Lavinia Fall Sunset Journal Page

Happy September friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I am playing along with the DT team and creating a fall scene. It's a bit hard to get into the fall theme when its still 104 degrees Fahrenheit here in TX but I am trying lol. I created a background using alcohol inks and then took out my Lavinia Stamps to create a fun scene.

I stamped the Lavina set Mae in Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and highlighted portions with a white gel pen. I also stamped the Lavinia Mystic Swirl, Lilium, and Floral Wreath stamps around my journal page. I had portions of my page that were a little sticky from the alcohol ink, so I added some left over foil and some shiny accents.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful cool weekend!

Darkroom Door Journal Page

Happy New Year Crafty Friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I'm creating a journal page with the Darkroom Door Sunflowers and Hexagon Stencil

I love this stencil and thought it would be fun to do a little ink blending with the Lavinia Elements ink in Truffle, Mermaid, and Sundance with the Lavinia stencil brush. Once my ink was dry, I used the stencil and framed the hexagons to stamp the Elegant Script with in my ink blending.

I then stamped and heat embossed the Sunflowers stamp and cut out the image to add to my page. I finished my page by adding the sentiment included in the set and clear heat embossing it.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week.

Art by Marlene Neon Butterfly Journal Page

Hello friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a funky fun journal page using gorgeous Art by Marlene products by Studio Light.  I had an absolute blast playing with my stamps and paints for this page.

I made a gel print using neon paints and one of Marlene's Out of This World stencils, similar to THIS one, but with a circle in the center, which I used to mimic the sun.   I added some stitching to the edges of the gel print then adhered in my ABM Go Dutch spiral watercolor journal.

I added some hand lettering over the background, something I love to do in my journal pages as they are more personal projects.  I stamped the Bold Butterflies onto Bristol and colored with my Prism brush  markers, then fussy cut them, then mounted them with foam tape for dimension.

Along the bottom of the page I stamped the new Back to Nature Wildflowers and colored them with Posca paint pens rather loosely.  The bold leaves are from the Bold and Bright Floral Simplicity stamp set.  I stamped them with a Versafine Clair Warm Breeze ink pad.  I really enjoyed combining these elements for this page and hope it has inspired you today!  xx, Autumn

Lavinia Alcohol Lift Ink Journal Page

Happy Friday crafty friends. Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I'm playing with some Lavinia stamps and creating a journal page using alcohol inks along with some lift ink. I've been watching videos from Tracey over at Lavinia and wanted to try her technique using alcohol lift ink.

I started with Yupo paper and applied alcohol inks until I was happy with the colors. I then took some alcohol lift ink and applied it to the top of my Yupo and brayered it to spread it over the paper. Acting quickly, I pressed my white card stock onto the Yupo to lift the ink. I love the result and the colors are bright but on a paper that is easier to stamp on.

I stamped the Lavinia Mae stamp in the middle of my background with Versafine Clair Nocture ink. I then used Versafine Clair ink in Twilight, Rain Forest, and Warm Breeze to stamps additional elements onto my background with the Lavinia Floral Wreath and Lilium sets.

I stamped the Magic Surrounds Us sentiment in white around my background to lighten up the image. I then used mica powder and dusted it onto the words to add some shimmer.

I added some ink blending in Twilight around the edge of my page as well as some gel pen accents to highlight my main image.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a chance to try this fun technique with alcohol inks.

Mixed Media Journal Page

Happy weekend! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and I hope you get a chance to play in your craft room this weekend. Today I'm creating a journal page with PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylics and some leftovers in my stash pile.

I started out with a creating a light background with the PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylics in Blah Mange, Bougainvillea, and Mulled Wine. I added some PaperArtsy Printed Tissue along with In The Navy Infusions

As you can see, my piece got dark rather quickly. I added some flowers from the JOFY 112 set that I had previously painted and then added some more Bougainvillea along with some white gel pen to lighten up my background.

I also added some white gel pen to my flowers and some more white gel pen patterns.

I used the sentiment from the AALL & Create #630 Basic Sentiments. I finished my journal page with some white splatters.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

PaperArtsy Butterfly Journal Page

Hello crafty friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here with an art journal page I made using some of my PaperArtsy supplies. I've been having fun working through some mixed media classes I signed up for and never completed. I don't know about you, but I'm really good at collecting art supplies and signing up for classes that I never finish. My goal this summer - to cross off a couple of classes of "my techniques to learn" list.

I went through various stages to create my journal background but first started by applying PaperArtsy Fresco paints on my page with a brayer. I used a variety of colors including: Banana, Taupe, Pistachio and Green Patina. I then used some PaperArtsy Infusions in Golden Sand and In The Navy around my page.

Once that layer was dry, I used the PaperArtsy Sara Naumann 41 with Versafine Clair Twilight ink and stamped the images randomly on my background. I then stamped the PaperArtsy Tracy Scott Butterfly on a leftover gel press print and cut it out.

I added white gel pen accents on the butterfly and adhered it to my page.

I then did a little finger painting with my fresco paints and added some Gumboots and Slate color around my page. I finished my page by framing is with a Stabilo black pencil and the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope my journal page inspired you to get messy and create!
