PaperArtsy Autumn Dream Card

Hello crafty friends. Ericka Strange here from Strangely Creative and today I have an autumn card I made using PaperArtsy, my gel press, and embossing powders. 

To start, I used the PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in London Bus and Persimmon. I love the look of a gel press background and the variety of designs you can create with them. I stamped the PaperArtsy Sara Naumann 45 and embossed it in WOW! Embossing in Deck the Halls powder,  a pretty sparkly green.

Next I used the PaperArtsy Tracy Scott 51 and stamped several designs on a separate paper and heat embossed them with Emerald Creek Charred Gold powder. I cut them out and added them around the edge of my card with foam tape for some pretty dimension.

Tracy Scott Mandala Love

 

Hello friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here with a fun post using the PaperArtsy Tracy Scott 51 mandala set. There is something about a mandala, I can't get enough and spent all day playing with them and using my white gel pen.

For my first card, I created a background using a brayer with the PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Lemon Meringue, Peachy Keen, and Peach Nectar. I stamped the Mandalas a couple of times using my MISTI and Ranger Archival Ink. 

I then took out my white gep pen and black pen and started playing around, filling in spaces and adding dots. There really are so many ways to use these great stamps. I used the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Life & Living set for all of my sentiments.

For my second card, I used the PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Cerise and Lemon Meringue. I then added Raspberry Infusions to the page and set it aside to dry. I took the smaller mandala stamp in my MISTI and stamped it around the card and colored it up the same way with my white gel pen.

 For my next card, I changed up some of my PaperArtsy Fresco Paint colors and added them with a paint brush. 

 On my last card, I painted the background with Twilight Fresco Paint. Once it was dry I used WOW! Embossing Powder in gold to heat emboss the mandala.

I was still able to use my white gel pen to color sections of the mandala to make it pop on my card.

Zentangle PaperArtsy Mandala

Happy Friday! How is your week going? Ericka here and things are getting  a little crazy with the kids, homeschooling, housework and all the other things that come with being in the house too long. I was able to escape some of the craziness and make this mandala card using PaperArtsy ETS 23 set.

I love this set as it goes with just about any type of background and you can play around with adding white gel pen and black for a little Zentangle look. You can just play with the image and add all kinds of fun designs.

I also added the sentiment from the PaperArtsy JOFY 73 set.

Glittering Mandala

Hello everyone!  Betsy here on the blog today sharing a beautiful glimmering mandala card in blue and gold!  I am using For the Love of Stamps - Precious Jewels:

This is such a beautiful stamp with so many color way possibilities!  I decided to use blue on black and started by cutting a black panel 4" x 5 1/4" and heat embossing the mandala image with gold embossing powder.  I left room for a sentiment but later decided not to use one.

For coloring I used Primacolor Premier Color Pencils.  They really show up well on dark card stock and the colors just pop!  I used:

I started in the middle and worked my way outward.  Blending the colors.  Only one or two areas have the full 6-color blend.  Most are 2-5 colors.  There are 2 places where I didn't color at all.  I always keep my pencils nice and sharp when using them, sharpening often with a hand held sharpener.  A sharp point helps get into the tiny spaces. 

I added a small round gold sticker in the center and then placed a blue jewel on top of that for some added sparkle - because...more sparkle!

I covered an A2 size white card base with blue shimmer paper.  I cut 2 very narrow strips of that same shimmer paper and adhered them across the bottom of the black colored panel with a narrow gold strip in-between.  And that finished my card!

Dare to Dream

Happy Saturday! Ericka here with some fun coloring using this Beautiful Mandala set from Paper Rose.

This gorgeous mandala is almost the size of an A2 card and makes a beautiful centerpiece for any type of card. I especially love the beautiful sentiments that come with this set.

I used rose gold embossing powder and Zig Clean Color Brush Markers to blend the colors of the mandala. I love how the colors came out by blending tow shades that were in different color families.

Paperartsy | Masculine & Feminine Mandalas

Hi everyone, it's Jenny here - I seem to be having a bit of a mandala kick at the moment – I absolutely can’t get enough of them. Today I’m featuring a beautiful mandala set by Tracy Scott.

I wanted to use the set to create both a feminine and masculine version. For the first card, I stamped the three largest mandalas in embossing ink onto an A2 panel of pink cardstock, and then embossed in metallic gold embossing powder.

I then used Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide and a blender brush, to blend pink up from the base towards the centre of the panel. As the Oxide is opaque, it covers the colored cardstock, and the embossing resists the ink (with a little help from a buffing cloth).

I added a few spatters of clear glitter spray and then stamped the Thinking of You sentiment from Visible Image Go To Words set in black ink. To finish I added a few pink and iridescent clear sequins.

For the masculine card, I took a panel of dark grey cardstock, and stamped the mandalas again in embossing ink. 

This time I heat embossed them in Emerald Creek Patina Oxide embossing powder which is a green and gold coppery type powder.

I then re-stamped the mandalas over the top in embossing ink only, leaving a pale grey image behind. The embossing powder resists the ink and it creates a watermark type look.

For my sentiment, I used the Visible Image set again, heat embossed in white on black cardstock then popped up on foam tape.

I really like how they turned out so differently and yet pair together! Looking at a set with a masculine and feminine card in mind will help you stretch your stamps and come up with some fab ideas you might never have thought of otherwise!  You can see more details on the supplies I used over on my blog.

Paper Rose Studio | Metallic Watercoloring on Dark Cardstock

Hi everyone, and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog!  

It's Jenny here, and today I have a card to show you which I created using a beautiful Large Mandala stamp from Australian company Paper Rose Studio. 

They also make the Layered Hello dies I used, and they had a  booth at Creativation with lots of sneaky peaks of new stuff - I'm excited for their 2019 releases!

To create my card, I first heat embossed the Paper Rose Large Mandala in platinum embossing powder on  6"x 6" dark grey cardstock.

I then painted the image using Finetec watercolors.  If you are sparing with water, you can use them on thick non-watercolor cardstock with no warping! They show up beautifully.  When dry, I diecut the image with a square stitched rectangle die.

I used the Paper Rose Studio Layered Hello to diecut the hello from the watercolored piece (save the pieces!). I die cut it 4 more times from the dark grey cardstock, which Iayered together with the watercolored piece.  I adhered the watercolored panel to a grey cardbase (8.5" x 4.25" scored at 4.25") and then popped the saved pieces and the stacked hello into the spaces.  Super effective and so pretty in real life!

Creating Embellishments with Rita Barakat Embossing Powder

Hi Everyone and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog!  It's Jenny here, and this week the team have been playing with the absolutely gorgeous Rita Barakat embossing powders from Emerald Creek.  

These embossing powders come in some beautiful colors, and some have some gorgeous glitter and sparkle.  They're slightly chunkier than normal embossing powder and absolutely perfect for using on die cuts or chip board to create embellishments, which is part of the focus of my project today. 

The embossing powders I used today are Kiss of the Fairy and Mermaid Fin. Both have gorgeous shimmer and the Mermaid Fin has pretty blue glitter.

I also used this gorgeous Paper Rose Mandala stamp.  I inked it up with Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed with Kiss of the Fairy powder onto a bright blue shimmer cardstock (by Tonic Studios).  The embossing powder is opaque and turns a beautiful purple.  

I die cut a Hello die, also by Paper Rose, from black cardstock. I then coated it completely with Versamark ink, covered it with Mermaid Fin embossing powder and heat embossed. 

I repeated this three more times to build up the embossing powder, until I had a sparkly Hello embellishment, which I then adhered with liquid glue to the centre of the mandala.

As a finishing touch, I heat embossed a sentiment from Visible Image Go To Words set, in white embossing powder on black cardstock. I fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam squares underneath the Hello. 

Hope you like it! I'm a huge fan of these powders, I need them all !!
