One can be both weird and fabulous

Hi Everyone,
Jess here today.

I have been really into creating oversized cards lately.  This one measures just over 5x7.  I used a bit of the yellow embossing powder from the Emerald Creek Boho Blends Spice Market Set and a stencil from the Studio Light Grunge Collection to add the yellow numbers in the background.  It's pretty cool that they blend in even though I didn't use any yellow for the original background colors.  I went back in with the stencil and using Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy added more of the numbers. I sprinkled a bit of the Seth Apter Patina Oxide Embossing Powder on the top of the card and heated it from below so it wouldn't blow away.

The focal image and the sentiment are from the Steampunkesque set from IndigoBlu.

Full details on how I created the card are over on my blog.

Bookmarks

Happy Friday and I hope you had a fantastic week! Ericka here today with something a little different. This summer has gone too quickly and my girls go back to school next week, so I thought I would make them a couple of bookmarks for school.

I used the A+ Teacher set from For the Love of Stamps and stamped them out a couple times on a variety of paper.
https://topflightstamps.com/products/for-the-love-of-stamps-a-teacher-school?_pos=1&_sid=863dd4245&_ss=r&ref=xuzipf8pid

These bookmarks have magnets in the inside so they hold the page and don't slip out of the book.

These were so much fun to make and I might have to make some more for the teacher once the school year begins.

For more information on how I created these fun bookmarks, feel free to stop by my blog Strangely Creative. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to take advantage of the Summer Sale going on now!

Birman Cat and Katzelkraft Rat with Guest Designer Cornelia

Hi Everybody,

Cornelia back again. This is my second post as guest designer for Topflight Stamps. This week we are focusing on the company For the Love of Stamps.

They have some super cute dog and cat stamps. Since I had dogs on my last post I thought I better be fair and put a cat in the scene. This one is a bit sneaky, hiding behind that wall.....

The Katzelkraft rat doesn't think he is cute and is just hoping for the best. After all there is no escape route for her....

My stamp supplies:

I stamped the cat and colored it with Copics. Masked it. The wall is an embossing folder. The rat I cut with my Scan N Cut and colored with Copics as well and mounted it with foam tape after I sponged the floor.

I hope you liked this. See you next Thursday!

Don't forget to check out the sale going on right now at the Topflight Stamps store!
It's through the 10th so don't miss out. ;-)

Queen, Let It Be

Are you having a good day today?  If not, maybe you should just let it bee? :-)  Toni here with you sharing a card using For the Love of Stamps Bee Happy.vis

I started my card by pulling out a Gelli Print I had made a while back. I had used the Visible Image Fibres stencil and PaperArtsy Seth Apter Fresco Chalk Paints Set 1.

The center portion reminded me of one of the cells in a beehive.

I stamped the For the Love of Stamps Bee Happy images using Versafine Onyx Black onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and watercolored them with Prism Inks.

I'm really happy with the versatility of these inks.  The past couple of weeks, I've shown you cards where I've used the ink to sponge a background, to stamp and here to watercolor. Very cool!

I cut out a hexagon cover plate in black then adhered the For the Love of Stamps Bee Happy images on top to finish up the card.

Diamonds and a Whale

Happy Friday and I hope you had a great week! Ericka here today with another card I made using the Dots to Diamond pad by Hunkydory.

I love all the different patterns this pad has and for this card I also wanted to use the Visible Image Look Forward with Hope and thought this little whale by That's Crafty would go perfectly.

I used the Classic Pearls from Hunkydory to add little water bubbles across my page. You can't really see it but I also added an action wobble to the whale so that it was a fun interactive card as well.

For more details on how I created my card, feel free to check out my blog Strangely Creative. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Dog Lovers Cards with Guest Designer Cornelia

Hello there, a new month has begun and that means we have a new Guest Designer! If you would like to be considered, be sure to tag your projects with #topflightstampsgd on Instagram. Our Guest Designer for August is Cornelia Wenokor of Stempel Spass and we are excited to see what creative creations she has in store for us!

Cornelia Wenokor

A little bit about Cornelia:

My name is Cornelia – otherwise known as fun stamping, which translates into Stempel Spass – the name of my blog. I am originally from Germany, hence my blog name, which just means fun stamping. For over 20 years I have been living in New Jersey with my husband and our younger son. Our daughter right now lives in England, working on her masters thesis. I am working full time and like to spend my evenings creating cards. I have been totally hooked now for about 7 years. I often do CAS cards, but occasionally I like to experiment with other styles. I love to tell little stories with my cards and I also love snark. Besides card making I enjoy photography, baking, cooking, hiking, biking, reading, classical and all sorts of ethnic music. In addition, I love to travel! Somehow my days are always too short...

******

Hi Everybody,

Cornelia here today. I am proud and happy to announce that I will be guest designer for the month of August for Topflight Stamps! I am thrilled to have been given this honor! The best thing is that August has 5 Thursdays, so I can sneak in an extra card or two......

So here is my first card:

I took this cute set by Carabelle to create my card.

Those dogs are so much fun! The Scotty dog and the Wiener dog are just meant for each other.  But I didn't want to cut off the Wiener dog. That would have been cruel.... So I decided on a side fold rather than my usual top fold and stamped him around onto the back. Masked them both and sponged the floor. Added the sentiment. I colored them with Copics.

And then the bulldog on this set complained about being left out....

So I apologized and put him on a card as well..... He is sitting on a stenciled wall and was also colored with Copics.

Such a cutie!

I will be back next Thursday with more inspiration!
