Inspire and Dream with Hobby Art~

Hi, Connie here with a card to inspire you to create
and Dream!  I'm using beautiful Butterfly stamps by 
Hobby Art and Darkroom Door.  They really
compliment each other.

The card was inspired by the background (dark green splats) on the 
white cardstock. This was in my reject pile.  I added the script from
the Word set by Hobby Art and paired it with the Butterflies from
the Janie's Butterflies Collection.

The leaves were added using the Fine Leaves by Darkroom Door.  This is
one of my favorite stamps.  I love to color them with Distress Oxide ink.
Love the messy look they add to a project.

Another Day Another Coffee Card!

Greetings! It's Tuesday and the Coffee Lovers Hop is still running so you've got Caffeinated Kathi here today to share a project with you! I wanted to show the versatility of  the Coffee To Go cup from the Coffee and Tea To Go Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set by Katzelkraft. It's got that open space that is crying out for a stamped image, so I decided to add one of the super-alert looking meerkats from the Meerkat Madness Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Hobby Art Ltd.

Here's the card, which has an action wobble.

The first step was to stamp the Coffee To Go Cup onto white cardstock with Memento ink. I stamped the cup onto a Post-It Note and fussy-cut the bottom of it to use to mask the bottom of the cup. Several of the meerkats from the Meerkat Madness Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Hobby Art Ltd. fit the front of the cup, but I decided to stamp the one with the bowtie onto the cup, which was fussy-cut and set aside.

I placed the Super Hero Rays 6x6 Stencil  by Paper Rose Studio over a piece of beige-ish/tannish cardstock, then working from the center outwards sponged Blue Lagoon, Mermaid,  and Sundance Elements Dye Ink by by Lavinia Stamps over the stencil onto the paper. Keeping the Super Hero Rays 6x6 Stencil in place, the Coffee Beans 6x6 Stencil by Paper Rose Studio was placed over it and Henna Elements Dye Ink was sponged over that. I should note that these inkpads are especially juicy, so after inking the foam applicator, I dabbed ink off onto a piece of scrap paper. However, their very juiciness is what allowed me to apply ink through two stencils!

Since I hadn't colored the Coffee To Go Cup, I was able to choose my colors based on the stenciled paper and used Copic markers to color the meerkat and the cup accordingly.

The inked panel was trimmed, matted with brown cardstock, then adhered to a green 5" square card. 

The fussy-cut Coffee To Go Cup was then adhered to the card front using an Action Wobble.

Carabelle Studio Field Birds Cards with Lavinia Ink Pads

 

Hi friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a couple of cards featuring the gorgeous new Jen Bishop birds stamp by Carabelle Studio.  There are three new bird stamps in this release, and they are just gorgeous.  I wanted to make a pair of vibrant cards with them.

I have been very excited to play with the new Lavinia Elements Premium Dye Ink Pads, which are now in stock at Topflight Stamps.  After seeing the amazing video tutorials Lavinia has shared on Instagram about using these pads with a brayer on the gel press, I had to try it.  Basically you lightly brayer this special formula of ink onto your gel plate, then sprinkle with watered down Brushos.  I used the Mermaid Lavinia pad and this amazing brayer by Speedball and added a light coat onto my gel plate, then since I didn't have Brushos handy, I tried adding watered Distress Inks with a normal brush.  I got little spotches and not the pooling effect that you get when you use the fan brush as they do in the Lavinia videos.  But I loved the background nonetheless!  I still had a lot of ink on my gel plate, so I decided to spritz it with water and pull a second print.  It was just as beautiful, only lighter.  I probably could have pulled a third print, but didn't have any paper handy... ha ha ha.

 

I stamped both backgrounds with Field Birds 1.  To create some contrast, I stamped them again and watercolored the birds to mount back over my backgrounds.  To add a little more interest I stamped the cancellation from Carabelle's My Stamp 2 along the edges.  I used the gorgeous Crealies Double Stitched Dies to cut the backgrounds nice and neat.  I am so excited about the possibilities for making backgrounds with these inks and can't wait to try again.  Thanks for joining today!  Hugs, Autumn

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Since my teammates and I have been featuring  PaperArtsy's Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints this week, I figured I'd just go with the flow and use them to create my coffee-themed project.

Here's my card using the Coffee Time Red Rubber Cling Stamp Set by Darkroom Door with Mermaid, South Pacific, Blah Mange, and Prawn Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy.

I started the card by creating the background first. Drops of Mermaid and Blah Mange  Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints were squeezed onto my craft mat, spread with the the 2" Speedball Brayer, then randomly applied to heavy mixed media cardstock. Since both paint colors are opaque, they mixed and overlapped until the cardstock was covered.  South Pacific and Prawn Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints, which are translucent and semi-opaque respectively, were applied sparingly using the brayer. 

Two colors of brown VersaFine Clair inks were used to stamp the coffee bean cluster and the single coffee bean from the Coffee Time Red Rubber Cling Stamp Set by Darkroom Door onto the painted background. The beans were all heat set with clear detail embossing powder.  Thee background was trimmed to 4" wide and set aside.

The coffee cup was stamped with Copic friendly ink onto white cardstock, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, then edged with a dark marker.

Roasted Coffee Prism Ink was used to stamp the coffee rings onto dry embossed kraft cardstock. The darker color of VersaFine Clair ink was used to stamp the sentiment. This panel was trimmed, then edged with Roasted Coffee Prism Ink using the Premier Ink Blending Tool and Foam Applicators. 

Clock patterned Washi tape was added to the base of the matted panel and the coffee-cup was adhered as shown.

The image panel was adhered to the stamped, embossed, and painted background paper. The card front was trimmed to 5.25" tall, all edges were sponged with Roasted Coffee Prism Ink, and the card front was adhered to a teal A2 card.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Ericka here and today I made a card using PaperArtsy Fresco Paints and stamps with my gel press to create a fun background for my coffee cup.

For the background, I used the PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Blue Moon, Aquamarine, South Pacific and Lemon Meringue with and brayer and gel plate. First, I laid down a layer of the yellow and pulled up the print. On my second layer in blues, I used the butterfly from the Tracy Scott ETS28 on the gel plate for the shadow image.

 

Once the background was dry, I stamped the Scrapcosy ESC13 in Versafine black ink and used a black embossing powder for extra depth.

 

I finished my card by inking up half of the Katzelkraft sentiment from the set Be Batman so that it reads, "We Have Coffee" and embossed that as well.
