Beautiful Bugs!

Hello there and happy Monday! Lisa Hoel here with another section divider for my ATC collection binders. ;-) (You can see the first one I made here.)

I mainly used the Rubber Dance Beautiful Bugs stamps set and the Stamperia Dragonfly & Butterfly Stencil to create this project. You can see more and a mini tutorial on how I made the background over on my blog.

Creating the look of Wood Carved Stamps with Rubber Dance

Welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog!  It's Jenny here, and today I'm showing you several different projects using a stamp set that mimics the look of wood carved stamps, and which can give a great focal point to a simple card.

The stamps I used for this are the Carved Whimsy Wood Stamp set by Rubber Dance.  They are rubber stamps but have etchings that give them the look of carved wood when you stamp them. 

To create my watercolor block printing cards, I used a variety of shapes of acrylic block.  On each one I swiped Distress inks or Distress Oxide Inks over the block - on the longest I used three colors, and on the smaller blocks (one is a circle) I used two colors.  I then liberally sprayed them with water and then pushed them down into a panel of Canson XL coldpress watercolor paper, then lifted off, dabbing up any excess with a paper towel. 

On the pink leaf stamp, I also splattered some of the excess paint with a small paintbrush.On the tree card, I ran the panel through a die cutting machine with a woodgrain embossing folder.  When dry, I stamped the images in a variety of dye inks, masking off the trees witha  post it to create a cluster. 

I then trimmed down each of the panels to 4.25" x 5.5" and adhered with double sided tape to white 110lb card bases and added a tiny sentiment from the Tim Holtz Ideology Chit-Chat stickers collection.

For my final card, I trimmed down a panel of wood paper (made from real wood) and stamped it with brown dye ink, stamping off onto scrap paper first so the impression was a lighter brown.  Before it dried, I heat embossed the tree in clear embossing powder, and added a sentiment. I adhered it to a kraft card panel.

Art altered notebook cover with Rubber Dance

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my last for 2017 Topflight Stamps post.

This time I just used one single Rubber Dance stamps to make the altered cover of the small, card sized, notebook.

This notebook was " striped" from the inside pages that were then added after to cover was altered.

I used fabric for the cover and made it in this messy Mixed Media style using a lot of painted chipboards, texture paste and stencils on the back and a mix of paints and mists to get these grungy colors

The main image was stamped over the thick white cardstock using black pigmented ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
The colors were added with distress inks and some water over it.

Pretty Hummingbird

Welcome to the Topflights Stamp blog.  Steph Ackerman here again showcasing stamps from a Norwegian Company - Rubber Dance.  I'm using the Hummingbird Stamp.  

 I stamped the hummingbird stamp and phrase in pink and brown inks to coordinate with my background.  The hummingbird was die cut and matted with cardstock then added to the card.  After wrapping the card with twine, I added the phrase on top with foam adhesives.

Smile with flowers art page

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my last November Topflight Stamps shop post.

Irit is here and this is our " make it your favorite style" week.

So toady I made an art page using one big Rubber Dance stamps set that can be found in our Topflight Stamps shop.

I really love doing art pages, but this is my very first time to  leave the stamped images in black and white colors and to arrange them over colorful handmade background.

As you can see the background was made with black texture paste and one artistic stencil and then misted with a mix of three delicate colors.
All flowers from the stamp set were stamped with black pigmented ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
Each and every flower was hand cut and some of them were stamped over with the smallest texture stamps from the same set . Actually I used the small stamps as the background filler and the "white spaces over stamps" filler and it worked in the most perfect  way.

The chipboard title was painted in one of the background colors and I added a few splashes of the hot pink to add more interest to the page.

Welcome to the Topflights Stamp blog.  Steph Ackerman here again showcasing stamps from Rubber Dance, a company from Norway with some lovely stamps.

I've been sewing since I was a child and this Sew Sweet stamp set is so much fun.  I began by creating a card from pink cardstock and tying Whisker Graphics twine around the card.

Then I stamped the pattern randomly about white cardstock.

Next, I inked the panel with varying shades of brown inks to give the panel a vintage look.  For a more vintage appeal, I frayed the edges and matted the panel with brown cardstock.

I stamped the ruler and place it across a large oval and then fussy cut the dress makers dummy, placing it on top with foam adhesives.  The phrase was then added.

Something Wonderful Mixed Media Canvas

 Welcome to the Topflight Stamps Blog.

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Topflight  blog post.

Today I am going to share the 8x8'' Mixed Media canvas made with most gorgeous Katzelkraft Butterflies stamp set and I am going to show  you a few stamping techniques while working over the Mixed Media canvas project.

First I added the background texture with texture paste and stencils (Tando Creative UK) and glued a few cardstock pieces with DCWV old cardstock collection. Then the whole piece was painted with DecoArt acrylic paints.

It's almost impossible to stamp over this heavy textured canvas, so I stamped the flowers stamps from the same stamp set over the white tissue paper and glued them on the bottom of the canvas with gel medium.

Now I decided to stamp over the chipboard flowers and butterflies with the large stamps. I used black pigmented ink (Memento Luxe) and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Then I colored the heat embossed chipboards with more acrylic paint and you can see that the butterflies are pretty much similar to the large ones on the bottom even with this partial stamping due the chipboard shapes size.

The sentiment is the most gorgeous Rubber Dance one and I hand cut it to the strips to make the "canvas look" for the sentiment.

Then two large and full size butterflies were stamped, colored and glued over the canvas.

Studio Light Butterfly Card

Welcome to the Topflights Stamp blog.  Steph Ackerman here again showcasing stamps from Studio Light which I paired with  Rubber Dance and IndigoBlu.

I stamped the large Studio Light butterfly and colored with assorted colors of Copic Markers before fussy cutting it.

The Rain Droplets background from Indigo Blu was stamped in blue ink on white cardstock and then matted with blue cardstock.

A die cut oval was added to the card and the butterfly was added on top.

The phrase from Rubber Dance's Affirmations stamp set was tucked in just under the butterfly.

Welcome to the Topflights Stamp blog.   Steph here again showcasing  wonderful stamps from Studio Light and Rubber Dance.

I used the Studio Light Butterflies stamp set, stamping the smaller butterfly twice.  I colored each and die cut one into a circle.  The other was fussy cut and placed atop the other adhering just the body so the wings were free.

I wanted to focus on the colors in the butterfly, so I added a simple pattern paper background and added the die cut butterflies on top.  Finally, I used the Affirmations Sentiment stamp set from Rubber Dance.  I love the size of the phrase and it was the perfect phrase for this card.

Summer Holiday Fun

Hello, welcome to the Topflight Stamps Blog!

This is Irit here today and I am going to share my Summer Holiday Fun Mixed Media card.
One of the great things about Topflight Stamps are the full themed sets from stamp companies around the world.
And when our topic is Summer/Sea/Nature some of the best are Rubber Dance stamp sets.

This is a set I used for my Mixed Media Nautical card: Retro Beach stamp set
To make this card I used not less than 9 stamps from this set and they connect in the most perfect way to make any Nautical project.





The background layer was stamped with the nest stamp all around. I used white embossing powder and then painted the embossed image with emboss resist technique to get the outer frame for my card.
The inner "post card" was stamped with black embossing powder and the main image was colored with distress markers.

The background around the main stamped image was painted with a mix of blue paints and then some stencilled dots were added with clear/ gold texture paint. Some misted splashes were the last color touch for the card.

Small sea creatures were stamped and then hand cut to make the corner embellishment cluster on the right.
Three stamped hand cut words made the left corner sentiment.

As you can see no embellishments were used to make this card, but stamped image and mediums. I only added the twine piece to connect the corners to the anchor.

Design Team Reveal Day 5

Welcome back to the Topflight Stamps Blog. Today we are so happy to introduce our 5th and final design team member Irit Shalom. Here is more about Irit in her own words and her first post. 

"My name is Irit Shalom and I am an Israeli designer and Mixed Media artist. In my “real” life I was a working full time Dentist for 33 years and last year I decided to retire and to spend more time with my family and my crafty addiction. I am a Mom of 4 grown- ups, a wife of a high police retired officer and a Grandma of 3 adorable little people. I am a versatile crafter: I scrapbook, make cards, create Mixed Media projects and Out of Page ones. I am also very versatile on my styles and they totally depend on the products I use.  But, in any of my projects and my styles I try to add some stamping. Over the years I have been a Design team member for dozens of manufacturers around the world. I am published in numerous print magazines and a CHA design section member. I hope to inspire you with my projects here and I am honored to be on this great team."

Hello my Dear Crafty Friends!

I am thrilled to be one of the new Topflight Stamps Design Team members. This is my first post. We were asked to make something in our style and I had a huge problem as I am not sure what my style is. Usually I call it "my no style" style, as I work in every possible style, but cute. My style depends on the products I use, my state of mind and the time I have  to make the project. Sometimes this can be a big dark industrial or Steampunk project. Sometimes it can be shabby pastel or brown vintage one. Some days I am in this clean and simple state of mind and some days it's graphic or totally classic project.

Today I am going to share one of my most visible projects and I call it "Light Mixed Media". By " light" I mean that I used mediums and even a lot of them, but the products are not totally clustered and you can see the actual products and to be able to identify them when you are going to shop.

Let me promise you,  Topflight Stamps has the best non-USA stamps collection and not only in USA!

Here is my project for today- an altered Mixed Media door hanger made in a kind of modern and even graphic way.

The base of this project is a very thick chipboard door hanger (Tando Creative UK) that was covered with Art Anthology stencils and mediums. Then the chipboard hexagons were added and I moved to the stamping.

I need to say that one of my always used techniques in stamping is heat embossing. I love the shiny result of heat embossed images and the easiness of coloring inside when you heat emboss your stamped images.

I used two different  Rubber Dance stamp sets from Topflight Stamps shop and this is a company that I designed for two and a half years in the past, so I love their stamps a lot and I am very familiar with them.

Happiness is a state of mind is a most perfect sentiment stamp from Rubber Dance Something Wonderful sentiments set. This is a MUST TO HAVE set for any Mixed Media artist!

The busy bees are two different  sized stamps from the same Rubber Dance Beautiful Bugs stamp set.

The stamped bees were  stamped with clear embossing ink, heat embossed with black embossing powder, hand cut and colored with dimensional paint and then misted all over with golden mist.

And if we are talking about my "no style" style, there is a print published page I want to share here. This is the latest Summer 2017 issue of Rubber Stamp Madness magazine and it's a column about styles. Two of the projects are mine and there is a bit about my "no style" there. The real reason  for adding this page is the Rubber Dance card that is there in print and made with one of the gorgeous stamp sets you can buy in Topflight Stamps shop.

I am not going to add much more about this card and you can read about it in the article if you wish.
But I am going to link to the stamp set as it's most gorgeous one!
