PaperArtsy Mail Art Tag

It's Tuesday, so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week I created a mail art tag that will be sent to overseas to become part of a a PaperArtsy Mail Art Journal compiled by Victoria Wilding.

Here it is!

Nocturne VersaFine Clair Inks by Imagine Crafts was used to stamp the focal image from the Lynn Perrella 27 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set by PaperArtsy onto mixed media paper, heat set, and colored with watercolor markers. When I was done coloring the image, I fussy-cut around the ribbons in the image, then edged the entire thing with a black marker.

Drops of BuffBlah Mange, and Sea Glass Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint by PaperArtsy were applied to a piece of foam, pounced onto my craft sheet to mix the paints, then dabbed onto a piece of mixed media paper until it was covered to my liking. It was heat set, then cut with a tag die.

Pale Aqua VersaMagic Chalk ink was used to stamp the postage stamps pattern of Mini 129 Ink and the Dog Cling Mount Stamp by PaperArtsy three times onto the tag and heat set.

Post-It Notes were used to cover all but the chevron pattern from the Mini 132 Ink and the Dog Cling Mount Stamp, then Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts was used to stamp it on the right side, and along the bottom left of the tag. Morning Mist and Nocturne VersaFine Clair Inks were used to edge the tag, then heat set.

Post-It Notes were also used to cover everything but the Mail Art postage stamp and the 23¢ postage stamp from the Mini 131 Ink and the Dog Cling Mount Stamp by PaperArtsy. The Mail Art was inked with Turqoise Chalk ink and the 23¢ Stamp was inked with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink. Both postage stamps were stamped onto excess painted paper, heat set, and cut with postage dies.

The focal image and the postage stamps were adhered to the tag. Three striped sheer ribbons were threaded through the tag's hole to finish the project.
