Darkroom Door Layered Handwriting Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day stampers!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a fun collage card just for mom.   I have been eager to play with the new Layered Handwriting Background Stamp by Darkroom Door again and decided to do a postal themed collage card for Mom, using it as the main background element.  I dipped my panel in watery Bundled Sage and Speckled Egg Distress Ink, then stamped the Layered Handwriting in Evergreen Bough and embossed with Distress Glaze.  I made a small envelope with my We R Memories Punch Board and distressed it with Gathered Twigs.  Then I stamped the Pen Nibs and bird from the Love Birds set in black onto inky paper and fussy cut them.  I stamped the Small Sketched Alphabet letters into one of the Lots of Labels stamp.  I attached a flat brad to hold the envelope flap down and adhered a pretty button over it.

The flap opens to store a gift card.  I added a note card as well and used the Simple Sayings Vol. 2 for the verse.  The extra word strips were printed off of my computer, an old postal stamp and a cancellation stamp from the Global Postmarks set to tie it all together.  I hope this card has given you some ideas and you'll play around with the Layered Handwriting stamp to make some backgrounds of your own.  Have a wonderful Mother's Day!  xx, Autumn

2022 Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Topflight is so excited to be a part of the Spring / Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. It wouldn't be a blog hop without a chance to win great prizes. Read below for information on the hop and how you can enter to win $25 gift card to the Topflight Store.

Ericka here and today I created some coffee mixed media journal pages and a card using the AALL & Create Caffeinated stamp along with PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylics.

I had so much fun with this set I played it with it several different ways. First I stamped the images and painted them with the fresco paints and restamped that images to get a crisp print.

I then stamped the images on collage paper and painted them. I then restamped the images and applied them to my mixed media paper with mixed medium gel.

I love this pretty look and that the background paper shows through as well.

Make sure to hop along with us all on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog HERE. There are so many fun prizes that you will not want to miss. Links here:

The hop is from Friday, May 6 - 13, 2022.

Flat Lay Flower Poetry with Katzelkraft and Lavinia Stamps

     Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today. This week it's anything goes on the Topflight blog.
I am playing along with the Artpoetry challenge over at Instagram. This week is about flat lay flower poetry. I had no idea what this is......But it's quite a fantastic inspiration! See the picture below that inspired me to make this card.
I stamped the plants - a mixture of Katzelkraft and Lavinia stamps onto patterned paper in various shades of green. Added some white gel pen highlights. The sentiment is from Darkroom Door and heat embossed. Added it with foam tape for some dimension. Mounted everything onto a grey card base.

And here is the inspiration picture:

I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.
See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.

Gear Up for a Great Birthday!

Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. I love birds and I love Steampunk, so I'm sharing a card created with the Steampunk Bird Cling Mounted Stamp Set by Indigo Blu, Bell Flower Vine Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps, the Industrial Elements 6x6 Stencil by Paper Rose, and a sentiment from the Gear Up and Some Assembly Required Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Hobby Art Ltd.

Here it is!

As per my usual method, I stamped the bird with black ink onto white cardstock and onto repositionable label paper. The label paper bird was fussy-cut and placed atop its counterpart on the image panel.

A clear ruler was placed horizontally over the base of the image panel to ground the bird's wheels. Blue Copic-friendly ink was sponged over a cloud stencil, then grey Copic-friendly ink was sponged over the the Industrial Elements 6x6 Stencil by Paper Rose onto the image panel. The ruler was moved and grey ink was sponged over the base of the image panel to color the white, then again over the vertical lines part of the stencil to add some visual interest.

Since the bird needed something to see and smell, The Bell Flower Vine Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps was stamped along the right side with black ink.

The mask was lifted and retained for another use and the images were colored with Copic markers. Several layers of Clear Glaze pen were used to add dimension and shine to the rivets on the image.

Succulent Card Tutorial with Paper Rose Studio

The world needs more of YOU! Hello everyone and happy Monday. This is Rachel from rwkrafts.com sharing an uplifting card with you all.

I started by stamping and coloring with Copics this gorgeous succulent image from Paper Rose called Flower Pot Border. I also fussy cut the image with detail scissors.

Next, I used the stencil Jofy PS310 from Paper Artsy to ink up the background of my card panel. The colored used are Prism Ink Canary Yellow and Prism Ink Camillia Pink.

Then I pulled out my watermark ink pad and the beautiful Magic Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder trio. I inked the edge of the sentiment strip with watermark ink and used Brassy Twinkle powder.

I decided the card needed even more of this gorgeous powder, so I inked up the edges of a second layering panel to heat up with the Brassy Twinkle powder.

Put it all together and here is the finished look...

BEE-U-TIFUL

Greetings and happy May! It's Kathi here to share a bright and cheerful card with you created with Tracy Scott's Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set 59 by PaperArtsy, the Honeycomb Stencil by Darkroom Door, Sundance Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps, and Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Tsukineko.

Here it is!

I used my stamping platform and Memento ink to stamp the beautiful bee from Tracy Scott's Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set 59 onto a 6" square piece of white cardstock and onto repositionable label paper. The label paper version was fussy-cut and placed over its counterpart on the image panel.

Sundance Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps was lightly brushed over the masked image to add a yellow background. The Honeycomb Stencil by Darkroom Door was placed diagonally over the the image panel and Sundance Elements Ink was brushed more heavily over the stencil onto the image panel. The stencil wasn't quite large enough to cover the entire image panel, so I shifted it down towards the right bottom corner, taking care to line up the hexagons, then brushed Sundance Elements Ink over the stencil again.

The mask over the bee was lifted and retained for a later use. Copic markers were used to color the bee.

Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Tsukineko was used to stamp the hexagon with the matching flower from the Tracy Scott's Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set 59onto yellow cardstock and heat set. The hexagon was fussy-cut then edged with black pen.

The image panel was trimmed, adhered to blue patterned paper, then to a 6x6 yellow card. The two hexagons were adhered as shown. The sentiment was trimmed from patterned paper, matted on a black flag die-cut, and adhered to the card.
