Happy Thanksgiving!

Greetings! It's Tuesday so it's Kathi here with a project for you inspired by my cats and by the fact that Thanksgiving is next week! Here's my cat-themed Thanksgiving card using the Kooky Cats Cling Rubber Stamp Set and the Little Kooky Cat Rubber Cling Stamp by Kate Crane for Carabelle Studios. with a sentiment from the Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set by Heffy Doodle on a background created with the Profusion Stencil #84 by AALL and Create and the Remember This Story Stencil by 13 @rts

Here it is!

The two cats from the Kooky Cats Cling Rubber Stamp Set were stamped onto white cardstock and masking paper. The masking paper versions were fussy-cut and adhered over their counterparts on the white cardstock image panel. The Little Kooky Cat Rubber Cling Stamp was positioned between the two cats, then stamped onto the image panel and onto masking paper, which was fussy-cut and placed atop its counterpart.

The bottom part of the image was covered. Yellow ink was brushed over the masked images onto the top part of the background, then brushedd again over the Profusion Stencil to create a tone on tone background.

Grey ink was brushed over the bottom part of the image and then again over the Remember This Story Stencil. I had forgotten to cover the top part and part of a word was inadvertently stenciled in grey under the cat on the left. I decided that perfection was overrated and that I could make my mistake look intentional by sponging random words onto the background. Then I realized that I had sponged a bit of grey ink over the top of the stencil so there was a horizontal grey line. Again, I decided to make my mistake look intentional by adding random horizontal and vertical lines on the yellow background. I actually kind of like that the mistakes that I made with the grey ink added a bit of a grungy touch to an otherwise cute card.

All masks were lifted and the images were colored to match the plaid patterned paper I selected. Once the coloring was done, clear Glaze pen was used to add dimension and shine to the Little Kooky Cat's glasses. A glitter pen was used to add a touch of glitter to the wings on the cat on the right.

Onyx Black VersaFine™ Ink was used to stamp the sentiment from the Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set by Heffy Doodle onto pawprint patterned paper, which was die-cut and edged with the grey ink.

Plaid background paper was adhered to a grey 5" x 7" card. The image panel was trimmed then edged with grey ink. It was adhered to the card then the sentiment was adhered as shown to finish the card.
