Greetings! It's Kathi here with you to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day. In honor of this special day, I've created a pirate-themed birthday card with the Parrot Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp and Napoleon Elephant Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set by Katzelkraft, Vintage Map Foam Mounted Rubber Stamp by Stamperia, and a sentiment from the Classic Sentiments by Heffy Doodle.
Here it is!
Onyx Black VersaFine Ink by Tsukineko was used to stamp the Vintage Map Foam Mounted Rubber Stamp by Stamperia onto 140 lb. Mixed Media cardstock and heat set.
Diluted Light Brown, White, Cobalt, Turquoise, and Leaf Green Brusho Crystal Colours by ColourCraft were used to watercolor the stamped image. Watercolor markers were used to add outlines to the coastal areas and to add a bit of depth to the land areas. Metallic markers were also used to add some detail. The back of the image panel was spritzed with water and rolled up to create some creases and folds, which were accented with Distress ink. The edges were torn and edged with Distress ink to add to the vintage treasure map look.
The Parrot, Napoleon Elephant, and his hat were stamped with Memento ink, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, edged with a dark marker, and adhered to the background panel.
The birthday sentiment from the Classic Sentiments by Heffy Doodle was stamped with Crimson Red VersaFine ink onto a die-cut banner. The other sentiment was also stamped with the same ink onto a speech bubble. The skull and crossbones was stamped onto a small speech bubble with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink and some press-type letter "r" were added. The banner and both speech bubbles were edged with Distress ink.
