Creepy Crawlies

Hi, Topflight fans!  Toni here with you today.  This week we're featuring That's Crafty products which was the perfect opportunity for me to play with the That's Crafty Skull Bugs set.

Creepy but cool, right?!

I stamped the images using Versafine Onxy Black onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth. I let that dry before I went to watercolor town with Zigs. I have to admit it was really fun coloring up these creepy crawlies.

As a final step I embossed the sentiment white on black so it would really pop out. Love how this turned out!

I'll be back with you next week. Until then, why don't you check out the new products that have come into the TFS shop!  You can shop your heart out using this 12% off coupon

Hop along, be inspired and leave comments for a chance to win. This hop does not have a link up for projects so grab your coffee and enjoy the inspiration.

Today Ericka has made two cards using the Darkroom Door Coffee Time set.

For the first cards, Ericka paired the sentiment and beans from the Darkroom Door Coffee Time with the Visible Image Ink Splatters for a fun take on spilling the beans.

These two sets pair so well together and a little Distress Glaze helps the beans stand out.

For the second card, Ericka used a watercolor background and stamped the coffee cup and heat embossed it with WOW! Embossing Trio Dockside in Oiled Sand. Ericka stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it with the Sparkling Sand embossing powder which is also in the Trio Dockside set.

Mixed Media Monday with That's Crafty

Hello Topflight Fans, Karen Bearse here today & we are making envelopes. You can use them for Junk Journals, mini albums or to send a card in a fun, decorated envelope!  This week the team is playing with That's Crafty, they have so many great stamp sets & stencils that are perfect for this type of project.

Here are 2 of the envelopes I made. I recycled mail for this but you could do this project with any type of envelope or make your own. For a full tutorial please hop over to my blog, link above.

This set was the star of the show, Arty Wings. The script stamp was used in the background. Those light bulbs are fabulous! The butterflies made for some cute paperclip embellishments.

I so wish I had this set it would have been perfect for this project! Can you say "add to cart" LOL.

That's Crafty has all sorts of fun stencils that can be used to add a bit of zing to this project. I stenciled using Fresco Finish Paints, so many colors to choose from!

The stars were colored in using markers. Simple way to make your image pop.

Great use for washi tape to put in the circle spot at the top of the envelope if you want to use it for a pocket.

Inside the window that has the car & quote these sweet diecuts were used from Art By Marlene. So many fun images that can be used. You just pop them out & slap them on- easy peasy. That is it for today, I hope you get the chance to get inky!

There is Always Room for Flowers

 Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today.
For today's post I picked this wonderful stamp  (Grunge Flowers - set 3) designed by Melina Dahl for That's Crafty.

I made the background with my gel plate. I stamped the flower and colored it with water brush pens. I trimmed the background paper, stamped the sentiment.

This was super easy! I love the gel plate - you can create lots of backgrounds in little time. It's a lot of fun and you always have some backgrounds available when you need them.

I hope you liked this! See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.

Hi, Foxy

Hello, Topflight fans! Toni here.  Today I'm sharing a one layer card using the Aall and Create Foxy Friends set.

Aren't those foxes adorable? And so perfect for the season.

I started the card by sponging the Visible Image The Forest stencil with Prism Ink Blue Lagoon, Canary Yellow and Cinnamon Swirl.

I've already used this stencil numerous times since getting it recently.  It's such an easy way to create a scene and mood with just a bit of color.

Lastly I colored up the images using Prism Markers Forest Walk and Prism Markers Heavenly Sunset. I did add some changing leaf dots to the tree using Copics.  So cute!

I'll be back with you next week. Until then, why don't you check out the new products that have come into the TFS shop!  You can shop your heart out using this 12% off coupon

Cat Bat Witchy Halloween Card

It's Tuesday, which means it's Kathi here to share a card created for Topflight Stamps! Since it's now officially fall, it's time to turn (almost) my full attention to things Halloween.

I decided to create a little scene with the Bat Cat Witch, aka Zinski Mini Zini 07 Rubber Cling Stamp by PaperArtsy, who is doing some research in her personal Halloween library, which was created with the Book Spines Frame Stamp Red Rubber Cling Stamp by Darkroom Door, two skull bookends from the Mr. Bone Jangles Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Visible Image, and wallpaper made with the Forest Leaf Stencil by Stamperia

Here it is! BTW, she's a grey cat in real life.

The Bat Cat Witch, aka Zinski Mini Zini 07 Rubber Cling Stamp, was stamped onto white cardstock, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black marker. I took her photo before I set her aside to work on her library.

Here she is all colored and fussy-cut.

The next step was to stamp the Book Spines Frame Stamp and the two skulls from the Mr. Bone Jangles Clear Polymer Stamp Set onto white cardstock. I'll mention that I used a Stamping Platform because I wanted the bottoms of the images to align.

Since I knew that I'd want to add a background to  the image, I also stamped book spines and the skull onto repositionable label paper, which I use as masking paper after fussy-cutting it.

I colored the book spines, the skulls, and the "shelf" with Copics, masked them, then sponged Milled Lavender Distress ink over the images to color the background. The same Distress ink was sponged over the Forest Leaf Stencil onto the image panel.

All the masks were lifted and a whole batch of rub-ons were used to add titles to the book spines. I'll admit I had a lot of fun with that, so much so that I took a photo to share with you.

Here it is:

I edged the image panel with Black Soot Distress ink, then matted the image panel with black cardstock, and mounted the shebang onto a purple 8.5" x 4" card. I added the Bat Cat Witch to finish the card.

If you'd like to know more about this card, please pop over to my blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping.

Tracy Scott Floral Feather Stamp Mixed Media Tag

Happy Monday stampers!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a couple of mixed media projects based around the new PaperArtsy mixed media feather stamp set by Tracy Scott, ETS43.  This stamp is wildly popular, so if you find it is unavailable on the Topflight Stamps website, make sure to sign up to be notified when it comes in.

I had an idea of a cascading tag book with the feather as the bottom, leading up to one of Tracy's butterfly stamp.  I chose ETS22 and used the flowers from the set to fill in my middle layers.  I stamped each design on a sheet of gel printed paper (I used my 8x10" plate for these prints).   I taped a tag die in place and cut to the point of each stamp design where I thought it would cascade nicely.  I used leftovers to stamp portions of the images to pop out.  I will share a flip through video on my Instagram (@sewpaperpaint).  I used some of Tracy's mini stamps to add more pattern to the tops of each tag.

This is the card I made for you the week before last, but didn't get a chance to post it here to the TFS blog because we were on a last minute vacation.  I used the same stamp set by Tracy, this time using both feathers, layered for a boho look.

I know we all face the problem when playing with our prints that some portions of our prints are just better than others.  Here you can see how I took a variety of pieces and layered them together to make my card background.  The end result is filled with texture!  So save those scraps and do piecework when you can.  Thanks so much for joining me today.  Have a creative week!  Hugs, Autumn
