It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. I love all things Steampunk so I was totally thrilled when Lavinia Stamps came out with a collection of Steampunk themed stamps.
Here's my first card using these fabulous new stamps.
Using a stamping platform and Copic-friendly black ink, the Topper Clear Polymer Stamp was stamped onto a white cardstock panel and onto repositionable label paper.
The label paper version was fussy-cut and placed over the hat on the image panel.
The Zia Clear Polymer Stamp was positioned under the hat, inked, and stamped onto the image panel and onto repositionable label paper.
Once again, the label paper version was fussy-cut and placed over its counterpart on the image panel.
Mermaid, then Bermuda Elements Inks by Lavinia Stamps were brushed over the masked images.
Keeping the images masked, the Steampunk Script Clear Polymer Stamp was repeatedly stamped with Mermaid Elements Ink.
The masks were lifted and the image was colored with Copic markers.
The image panel was trimmed and edged with Mermaid and Bermuda Elements Inks.
A piece of white cardstock was trimmed to 4.75" x 6.75" and brushed with Mermaid Elements Ink. Using a stamping platform, clocks and cogs from the Clock Set 1 Clear Polymer Stamp Set, Cogs Set 2 Clear Polymer Stamp Set, and Cogs Set 3 Clear Polymer Stamp Set were repeatedly stamped with Mermaid Elements Ink to create a tone-on-tone Steampunk background.
While I was brushing the background with Mermaid Elements Ink, I also brushed a scrap of white cardstock. The Time Flies sentiment from the Time Flies Clear Polymer Stamp Set was stamped with Mermaid Elements Ink and cut with a nameplate die. Both the background panel and the sentiment die-cut were edged with Mermaid Elements Ink.
The image panel was matted with purple cardstock, then adhered to the background panel. The sentiment die-cut was adhered to the background panel. Screw-top brads and tiny brass gears were used to embellish the sentiment die-cut, then the cardfront was adhered to a purple 5" x 7" card.
