Seagull at the Seashore

Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. I love visiting the beach especially during the offseason when it's a bit more serene. And nothing says the beach more than a seagull.

Here's my slimline card that I created with the Counting Seagulls Unmounted Rubber Stamp by Crafty Individuals and the compass stamp from the Eclectica ESC11 Cling Rubber Stamp Set by Scrapcosy for PaperArtsy.  Prism Inks by Hunkydory Crafts were used with the clouds portion of the Great Outdoors Stencil by Polkadoodles to create a cloudy sky. The image panel and a mat layer were cut with the Essential Rectangle Frames Slimline Die Set by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

Counting Seagulls Unmounted Rubber Stamp was stamped onto white cardstock and onto masking paper. The masking paper version was fussy-cut and placed over its counterpart on the image panel.

The bottom portion of the card was covered and Periwinkle and Pink Jellybean Prism Inks were brushed over the clouds portion of the Great Outdoors Stencil by Polkadoodles to create a cloudy sky.

The sky was covered and Blue Lagoon, and Ocean Spray Prism Inks were brushed horizontally over the bottom of the card to create the sea. The image panel was then cut with the second largest die from the The image panel and a mat layer were cut with the Essential Rectangle Frames Slimline Die Set by Sue Wilson.

The compass stamp from the Eclectica ESC11 by Scrapcosy was stamped with Periwinkle Prism Ink.

The masks were lifted and the seagull and the wooden pier/signs were colored with Copic markers.

The bottom of the image panel was looking a little plain, so I covered the seagull with tape, inked the stamp with Ocean Spray Prism Ink, and stamped the tide chart information randomly over the sea. The cap from a spray bottle was pressed onto the ink pad and stamped to add another element. White gel pen was used to add detail to the sea.

The image panel was matted with dark grey cardstock. Medium grey cardstock was cut with the largest die from the Essential Rectangle Frames Slimline Die Set by Sue Wilson and used to mat the image panel. Hemp twine was wrapped around the matted image panel, which was then adhered to a grey slimline card.

AALL & Create Tracy Evans Bird Song Slimline Card

Hi friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a slimline mixed media card featuring gorgeous stamps by Tracy Evans for AALL & Create.  I absolutely love dipping paper into inks and creating my own backgrounds.  It's something that really makes me happy and destress.  For this card I used a combination of the new Speckled Egg Distress Ink with Frayed Burlap and Gathered Twigs, then added some Iced Spruce Distress Oxide, drying between layers for a more mottled look.

I stamped the hatted bird from stamp set #393 Birdsong onto my inky panel, then again and colored and fussy cut him, and again just the hat for dimension.  I stamped portions of the leaf stamp to fill the panel, then embossed stamp #302 Going Postal in gold.  I finished with a splash of Bronze Penny Glimmer Mist (not sprayed, but splashed from the receptacle), a couple of brads for the bird's wheels and a wrap of jute.  I just love him and hope this card has inspired you to get inky today!  Hugs, Autumn

New Stamperia 8" Paper Amazonia Card Ideas!

Hi Friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today and I'm super excited that Topflight Stamps is now carrying 8" paper pads by Stamperia!  These pads are $7.99 and there are tons of designs, including coordinating stamps.  I quickly snagged the Amazonia pad and had a fun evening of creating!

I added a few die cuts by Memory Box and a chipboard vine by Gypsy Laser Cuts embossed with Seth Apter Patina Oxide powder by Emerald Creek.

The flowers all came from the same pack of Prima flowers.  I layered some Tim Holtz acetate butterflies over the Stamperia paper butterflies for dimension.

I ended up with nine 4x6" cards (A4) and one slimline card.  I almost used every smidgeon of this paper and really like the variety of my finished cards: butterflies, parrots, toucans, leopards, and sloths!  How fun!

I hope these cards get you inspired to have a papercrafting session of your own!

Fall Birthday Card & the Grumpy Cat

Hello and happy Friday! It's Lisa Hoel filling in again. The theme for the week has been fall cards so I made a birthday card for a friend whose bday is in October.

Lisa Hoel for Topflight Stamps - fall themed birthday card with Darkroom Door stencil and Katzelkraft Cats #creativejuicefreshsqueezed #topflightstamps

I love the grumpy cat from the Katzelkraft set Les Chats aka Cats. I have the best time making up snarky things for him to say! I surrounded him with a frame of embossed leaves. The Carved Leaves stencil is from Darkroom Door and the lovely embossing powders are Gwen LaFleur's Boho Blends from Emerald Creek. I hope my friend gets a laugh from this card!

Don't miss out on the Labor Day sale running now through Monday night!

Into the Fall with AALL&Create

  Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here day!
This week out theme is fall/autumn. I saw this wonderful veggie set  by Bipasha from AALL&Create and had to have it......
I decided to go with the carrots - a typical fall vegetable and mad a tag.

I discovered those wonderful tags - they are from Studio Light and they are made from the thickest paper (300GSM). Wonderful to work with. And they are large. They are a bit longer than a standard A2 card and a smidgen less wide - to give you an idea about their size. They have a tab on the side, that I didn't need, so I cut it off.

I made a smooshed background with distress inks and stamped the carrots on top. Colored them with water brush pens and Inktense pencils. Added a bit of texture to the background with a stencil. Did some additional sponging around the edges. Die cut a black tag ring, glued it on and added a bow with a ribbon from my stash.

Here you kind of see the whole set. It is huge! It's actually a great deal, given its size.

I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.
See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.

Mixed Media Fall Inspired Canvas Bag

Hi, Connie here with a mixed media canvas bag, great for holding all kinds
of  fun STUFF, using the Gel Press, Darkroom Door and PaperArtsy stencils. The
theme for this weeks blog post is Fall.  I used a selection of oranges, browns, green
acrylic paints for the fall color palette.

The Gel Press was used to add color to the bag.  I applied several different coordinating
acrylic paints to the Gel Press, ran a (hair)comb through it (to get the wavy lines) and
 then started adding stencil images.

The stencil images and texture lines were enhanced by outlining them with acrylic
paint.  I used a no.00 script liner for this. It really makes a difference
and brings the images front and center.  I like that!!!

Buttons were handsewn on the bag tab and random clusters on the bag front.  I used
embroidery thread for this. It shows up better than sewing thread :):).  Hope you
will give the Gel Press and stencils a try!

Products Used:

Gel Press 6X6 Round ( I used a 4X4 Round)

Darkroom Door/Med. Stencil/Journey
