The base is a blended background made with Lavinia Elements inks. I love building scenes with Lavinia stamps – they all mix and match so well! The cute little mouse is a stamp called Thistlewhisk. The love sentiment is from the Studio Light Love die set.

Darkroom Door Valentines

Hello friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative and today I am making a Valentines Day card using Darkroom Door. I started by creating a background using Lavinia's Pinkella Mystical Mists and Claret Acrylic Spray. Once my background was dry, I used the Darkroom Door Handwritten Ledger and stamped it on my background with white ink.

I then used the Darkroom Door Grunge Border stencil with texture paste to add additional interest to my background. I sprayed the Lavinia's Kingfisher Mystical Mists and Teal Acrylic Spray and stamped the Darkroom Door Heart stamp and gold heat embossed it

I finished my card by adding some black pencil highlights as well as a hand drawn frame. Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to check out the stencil sale going on now.

AALL & Create Tracy Evans Love Bug & Black Birds Valentine Cards

Hi friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share some fun mixed media Valentine inspiration featuring gorgeous AALL & Create stamps from Topflight Stamps.  I've had fun digging through old and new stamps to make these Valentines and the ones I posted last week HERE.  It's been too long since I used the Lady bug stamp set by Tracy Evans so I chose it as my focal point, embossing the shell of the bug and using the Scripted stamp both as a background and as a fussy cut layered element.  I used Andy Skinner texture paste through the Hung Up On Hearts stencil for some background texture.  I made a sentiment from label tape and paired it with the word stamp from the Ladybug collage and finished with some rugged stitching.

For my second card I used a combination of Confetti and Paprika Lavinia Elements ink pads to make my background.  I used other portions of the Ladybug stamp set and this time mixed them with the Blackbird stamp set.  I added some highlights with a white paint pen and some more messy stitching to finish this Valentine.  I hope these cards have given you some new ideas for some of your older stamps.  xx, Autumn

Darkroom Door Hearts

Happy Friday! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and I hope you have been enjoying all the Valentine inspiration from the Design Team! Today I'm continuing the theme with a card using Darkroom Door Hearts set. I love this set and the beautiful script in the hearts.

To create my card, I used a background I made with Dina Wakley Media sprays. I then stamped the Darkroom Door Abstract 08 with Archival Ink and around the edges of my background. I used the Honeycomb stencil with texture paste and then set it aside to dry.

I stamped my hearts with WOW! Embossing powder in Glassy Ocean powder and some pink powders and cut them out to add to my background with foam tape.

To finish my card, I heat embossed the sentiments in white and added it to the top. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Mixed Media Valentine Card with Hobby Art Stamps & Embossing

Happy Monday friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a little mixed media Valentine project.  This week our design team is showcasing the Hobby Art, Ltd. brand and, of course, I chose the grungiest of stamp sets I could find.  Ha ha!  I love the Words stamp set because it is so versatile, and can be used for cardmaking, journaling and mixed media.  Today I'm using it to create a somewhat masculine card for my hubby.

I wanted to try out the new Campfire Distress Ink pad and was surprised that it was much more orange than I thought, so I did some ink dipping using Prism watercolor paper with Campfire, Fired Brick and Gathered Twigs to tone down the orangeness.  I stamped the script and Love words onto my inky panels with Versamark ink and embossed in Ranger's Mixed Media Hammered powder, then went over the edges in Fire.

To finish off the design, I added a little glue stick/foiling and embossed a couple of die cuts.  The Flourish die was embossed in Fire, then a little Scarlet Mixed Media powder along the edges.  I embossed the Heartfelt die in Hammered, then stamped the script stamp into the hot embossing to add some texture.  I hope you will check out this amazing stamp set and the entire Hobby Art, Ltd. brand at TopflightStamps.com today!

Kate Crane Face Stamps Valentine Card

Hi folks!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint here today to share some funky fun mixed media Valentine cards with you.  I picked out a rather odd assortment of stamps and stencils for my cards, but am very happy at how well they played together.  I started by having a printmaking session with my 6" square gel plate and the gorgeous PaperArtsy stencil PS210 by Tracy Scott.  I thought the round shape would halo my chosen face stamp well.

I used PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylics in Red Lipstick and Bubblegum with white paint to create my prints.  When I had finished I decided they were a little too monotone and dipped them into watered Distress Ink in Tea Dye to "warm them up."  I used it with Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberries to watercolor my Art Doll faces by Kate Crane.  I extended the color beyond the border to make the image appear larger, then fussy cut around it.  I used some scrap strips to do a mop up from my watercoloring, then stamped the Words by Hobby Art in Picked Raspberries and Tea Stain at the bottom, layering with a black die cut and a twine wrap.  To add even more texture, I stained some paper doilies with Tea Stain ink and crumpled them up beneath.  I added a splash of black gesso to further grunge them up.  They were fun to make and I hope they make you smile.  Big hugs, Autumn

Sara Naumann Valentines with PaperArtsy Infusions

Happy Monday friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you to share some quick and easy mixed media Valentine cards.

I've been having a good 'ole time playing with my PaperArtsy Infusions powders.  I wanted to try them with an embossing resist.  I chose one of Seth Apter's mini stamps, EM41, for my background, stamping it three times across my card to make a stripe.  I clear embossed it three times to get a nice chunky texture so my Infusions would have a spot to pool.

I always spritz my panels with water before adding my Infusions powders so they have somewhere to stick.  I used Magenta first.  I let the color bleed and sprayed with more water, moving the powder with my finger tips (you can use a brush if you like) until I achieved the desired effect.  Next I added Terracotta and let the color bleed toward the Magenta, leaving some light space in the middle.

For my first card, I decided to stamp the large bird from Sara's ESN34 stamp set in black gesso.  I thought the gesso would work well over the embossing and I prefer a matte black image to a glossy black embossing.  I used my stamp platform and applied the gesso with a foam wedge, stamping two or three times until I achieved the desired coverage (then cleaning my stamp immediately).  When the image was dry, I added highlights with a white Uniball pen.  I inked the edges of my panel with Versafine Onyx Black.

For my next card, I simply made a random background with Magenta and Terracotta Infusions, completely covering a sheet of watercolor paper.  When my panel was dried, I used texture paste through Sara's stencil PS092.  I let the stencil paste air dry overnight, knowing it would pull the pigment and tint the paste as it dried.  I squealed when I awoke and saw it!  :)

I wanted to add another bold focal image to this card, but didn't want to cover the glorious background, so I stamped the butterfly row from Sara's ESN33 stamp set, again in black gesso, but this time onto a piece of torn vellum.  I stitched the vellum to my background.  Both sentiments are stickers, highlighted with watered black ink.  The hearts were cut from the rest of the sheet of inky background paper I made for this card.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing Infusions powders in action today and will try making some Infused backgrounds of your own.  Hugs, Autumn
